It’s the season to be jolly and jelly for many Samsung Galaxy S3 owners, as the Android 4.1 update is making its way to various variants of the flagship device, as well as a host of other Samsung phones and tablets that have been confirmed to get the upgrade.

We reported a week ago that those in South Korea can expect to see Jelly Bean arriving on October 9th. Well, that day is here my friend and Samsung has officially announced on its website the update for the Galaxy S3 for the Korean market – specifically for the SHW-M440S model.

From the explanation, you should be able to find Jelly Bean on Kies now for the 3G variant of the phone. The new software should also be available to install via OTA (over-the-air) update. The upgrade will bring improved performance, camera functionality improvement, smart rotation, and more.

Those in the U.S. can refer to our earlier post about the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S3 on various carriers in the country. The update is still listed as “coming soon”, though. With leaks coming in left and right, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the software update rolling out this month.

Any South Korean readers  seeing the buttery smooth update on their Galaxy S3? Be sure to share your excitement and hit the comments below.

I have the SHV-E210K Siii and STILL NO UPDATE for this in South Korea! To be perfectly honest, I LOVE the Galaxy range, but Samsung’s pathetic track record regarding updates shows it has very limited loyalty to it’s customers once money has been exchanged. I, for one, will be exploring other phone options in the future.
