Detailed iPhone 6 (Mockup) vs HTC One M8 And Samsung Galaxy S5 [4K Video] - YouT 001606

Next week will be intense, to say the least. If you’re an Android fan, that is, because Apple devotees will have to wait another few days for their big event, the launch of the new iPhone.

On September 9, Apple will finally unveil a larger smartphone. Widely expected to be a 4.7-incher, the iPhone 6 will give iOS users what many of them have been openly demanding for years – a large, modern screen.

At 4.7 inches, the new iPhone could finally go toe to toe against current Android flagships, most of which feature displays of about 5 inches. In the video below, from YouTuber Macmixing, you can get a sense of how the new Apple smartphone will compare to two of the best Android devices out there, the Galaxy S5 and the HTC One (M8).

The device in the video is obviously a mockup, but from all the leaks that have hit the web over the past months, we’re pretty sure the production device will look very similarly.

And here’s another video from GadgetJM comparing a mockup iPhone 6 with the newly launched Galaxy Alpha.

So, what say you? Are you impressed with the new, larger iPhone so far? How about the design? Is there any reason for concern for Android phone makers?

  • Imran Ul Haque

4.7 eh? I see myself buying 5.7 inch phone. Android is always ahead. Question is, will there be 2 or 3GBs of RAM and a faster quadcore processor like Nvidia K1? Answer is “NOPE” there wont be in coming few years on iPhone.

    • Andy

Question is, does the iPhone need 2 or 3GBs of RAM and a faster quad core processor like Nvidia K1 to perform smoothly and efficiently and also be future proof? Answer is “NOPE”

      • ♜Donzzy™

Do the specs of 1GB and dual core processor enough to handle multitasking without lags or app crashes? Answer is nope. I, for one, do experience occasional app crashes on an iPad.

        • Andy

And I experience occasional app crashes on my Nexus 5, whats your point? Fact is, iOS doesn’t require as high as specs as Android because its more optimized, so the spec argument is pretty redundant.

          • EKfine

he said OR app crashes. do you even know how multi tasking work?

          • JayMars84

They optimize it by not allowing you to do much beyond taking selfies and playing Flappy Bird.

Seriously though, the Moto G only has a gig of ram, runs Android very well, and actually became a success for Moto. Starting with KitKat, Google has been working on making Android run better on lower spec devices and they’re succeeding.

          • Andrew Brennand

            Such arrogance, christ.

Yep, the Moto G is a great phone – i’ve got it. But it still experiences app crashes and gets bogged down when you start to do a bit more heavy multi tasking. It could definitely do with at least an extra 0.5GB of RAM. Which is why i’m slightly disappointed by the rumours of the G2 only having 1GB again.

          • JayMars84

“But it still experiences app crashes and gets bogged down when you start to do a bit more heavy multi tasking.”

            Welcome to every phone ever.

          • Mozaik

Thats why bioshock is released for ios and not for android.

          • JayMars84

            Oh, the horror! No Bioshock!?

          • Mozaik

more horror , another list of games not released for android.

            ocean horn
            monster hunter
            gta chinatown wars
            infinity blade series
            civilization revolution 1&2
            joe danger 1&2
            Tiny Wings
            Icycle: On Thin Ice
            Rolando 1 & 2
            ragdoll 3
            Bumpy Road
            Battleheart Legacy
            JUNK jackes
            lostwinds 1&2
            Star Wars®: Knights
            year walk
            jet car stunt 2
            beat sneak bandit
            lego batman 2
            Papa Sangre 1&2
            namco bandai supremacy series
            touchgrind skate 2

your arrogance is why android get bad names , each platform is powerful , respect everyone.

          • JayMars84

A bunch of time passing toilet games. See my post above for actual useful things iOS lacks. You are the one bragging about Bioshock.

          • Mozaik

Dude you should really see this games and then say , this games were awarded by ign and gamefaqs for unique visual and gameplay , which games are exclusive available for android(and plz dont say half life 2 and portal because they where ported by nividia for shield only not for android). Both are powerful os but each have its weakness so shut the hell up and enjoy what you like and let others enjoy.

          • Woe of [S]unjΔy

I have experienced more app crashing on my iPad than any Android device and it turns out that i’m not the only one. So much for optimization.

      • Shanos

no it doesn’t but… it would mean that when the next iOS version comes it might be able to handle it without slowing the phone down to almost unusable speeds.
this has happened time and time again.. all in the name of selling more iPhones and minimising perceived fragmentation.

      • ari_free

        “640k is enough for everyone”

    • DDT

Apple will get you covered. Android is an mobile OS for merging markets-discussing that it is “ahead” or not doesn’t have any sense.
Question 1: There definitely won’t be 3GB of RAM it’s more probable to get 4GB than 3 as Apple always doubles the RAM. Most probably 2 or stay with 1. It’s more than enough for all kinds of multitasking.
Question 2: It will be possibly quand core, but it will be definitely faster than tegra K1 in CPU and at least a catchup on the GPU side, but at far lower power compustion that can be put into a ultra thin phone (Tegar K1 is a notebook/Tablet chip).

      • Marco Lancaster

1: They will stay with 1GB, some leaks of internals point that.
2: I guess the A8 will be a Dual Core with 2.0Ghz thr first one on Apple devices, but to be honest no matter how it performs in power consumption, iPhone always has a bad battery,.

  • Andy

This phone looks large considering its only 4.7″. According to leaks, the X+1 is very similar size to the S5 as well yet sports a 5.2″.

    • Woe of [S]unjΔy

      iPhones have huge bezels.

  • JayMars84

Great. Now give me Tasker, LMT, Xposed, floating apps, multiwindow, ability to change default apps, and ditch iTunes, and MAYBE I’ll consider going back.

    • MasterMuffin

Let’s have that last one in bold caps: DITCH ITUNES.

      • DDT

        What ???

        • MasterMuffin

What what*? I wanted to repeat the last one in bold caps because 1000% agreed :)

          • DDT

            Agreed on what ?

          • MasterMuffin

On the fact that Cthulhu is our lord and savior ofc /s

            Are you serious

          • MadCowOnAStick

So this is what muffins listen to everyday…

          • MasterMuffin

Such talent, much art, very deep, wow

      • filaos

Why so ? You don’t have to use iTunes if you definitively don’t want to, and it gives great powerful functions if you want to use it.
I don’t get all the iTunes bashing thing…

        • MasterMuffin

I just grew to hate it back in iPhone 3 and 4 days.

        • John

Its a Windows user thing for the most part… many still manually organise all their music into folders. They can’t get their heads around dumping everything into a Jukebox and letting the application do the sorting. Almost every Windows user I know who uses iTunes ends up having 2 copies of every song because they don’t realise that iTunes handles its own backend library. I keep on telling them to delete the file after playing it or importing it, they never understand. I blame WMP for getting people into the habit of treating music like a word document.

    • Harry

      So a jailbroken iPhone?

  • imHOWIE

I think the statement “iPhone users have been openly demanding for years” says it all. Only iPhone users are going to care about this. It’s still going to suck when compared to any Android flagship.

  • s2weden2000

too bad it wont help the “fact”…

  • DDT

Widely expected to be a 4.7-incher, the iPhone 6 will give upcoming switchers from android what many of them have been openly demanding for years – a large screen.

  • Mike Bastable

strange to compare a non working iPhone 6 to other handsets since all my Apple using mates rave about how easy it is to use etc…why not wait a while a compare them once they launch?
Personally Android is best for me for my handset, Apple is best for my tablet and desktop. I do not hate either for not being the other, both systems have great features and i am confident that the iPhone 6 (both of them) will be the biggest success yet for Apple.
Also confident that the G3 will be huge for LG, the Mi4 will really put Xiaomi on the map and that the S5 has been disappointing.
The screen size issue is a strange one, i find my G2 perfect for me, my mates think it is too big to use easily, my partner thinks it is too small…so it is a matter of taste.
Specs wise iOS makes different demands on a system than Android so huge processors are not really necessary, would be like building a Ferrari engine and putting it in a BMW Mini….little silly really.

  • tay

The iPhone 6 is clearly “inspired” byt the htc one m8 if the rumours are correct..

I hope this helps HTC in some ways to get more people to see their One-lineup

  • mikemike

The iphone was pretty good looking with the release of the 4, but this mockup is UGLY. Despite the looks and the “galaxy sized” screen that iphone users said was stupidly large, they will buy this new one.

    • leo

for me iPhone 4S was the last good iphone. all iphones after that crap

  • flamencoguy

copycats! Slavishly copying Android phones. Exactly 4.7 and 5.5 inches. Why not 4.6 and 5.4. Give them a taste of their own medicine

  • jim

    Nah..sooo late for apple..

  • Mahmood Qadri

But the next big thing is coming. #Ready4Note

  • DroidGuy360

so sad that iZombies are so excited for a bigger phone, same people that said 2 years ago 4″ is big enough, they would never go bigger. Now they all have iBoners for a larger screen that literally everyone else has had for years. im so glad i found the note 3 and left apple, its fun to actually do more with my phone, instead of only being able to do what apple approves.

  • GuyM

if its really the iphone 6 look’s like ! its really is an icrap !

    • Patrick Smithopolis

This is the first time I’m not impressed by their design.

  • i_say_uuhhh

Really not digging that design, I hope they turn that black into white or silver. Otherwise HTC has the crown on making great hardware.

  • Jasper

Did anyone thinks that the design of iPhone 6 looks like Htc One M8? cause i think i do

  • Magnetic1

I can’t imagine why they both insist on reminding us that it is a mockup of the iphone 6.
As if someone might see these videos in midstream and think the iphone 6 is a dummy.
Clearly these guys and anti-innovation and just plainly envy when someone else is having cake, like a in a week.

You know as soon as an iphone 6 giveaway is started this server is going down, so be nice.

  • Amuro Ray

isnt it too big for 4.7 screen phone?

  • Pedro

I really hope that’s not the final body of the iPhone 6 becausebthat thing is too damn ugly!

  • Kaan Ekinci

why there isn t sony xperia z2 ? it s a great phone too

  • mathewmakio

lol..listening to Android enthusiasts is hilarious. I’m not on any side but the bias comments are by far the mos comical part of my day so far.

You can’t honestly sit here and think it’s OK to bash that iPhone 6 when Samsung just brought out that monstrosity in the S5 Aplha? You waited six months for some aluminium edges? Nice. The S5 is the ugliest phone I’ve seen in some time. In addition the M8 looks like a block of lead literally how it comes from a factory.

At least that iPhone (mock) looks simplistically modern. I don’t even know what to call the Alpha other than an eye sore with nice edges.

    • mathewmakio

Nobodies arguing the (open source and free just quietly until you were made to pay for it) nature of Android isn’t better. But that doesn’t come out on top of quality, looks and performance.

      • mathewmakio

After using both Apple is better quality
Apple sure as shit looks better
        Apple has the better performance

Enjoy your Xposed LMT and whatever the fuck nobody cares

        • mathewmakio

And dissing iTunes? Really? What music platform do you even have?

  • why still mockup hehe )
