Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is on everyone's lips and with good reason. The update brings a number of features and enhancements, such as a smoother interface, advanced search functionality, Google Now for automated information, a better Android keyboard, and an improved notification menu.

Unfortunately, this update might not make it to all Android devices, but thanks to the hardworking folks at XDA Developers, almost everyone can get a taste of the update, including Samsung Infuse 4G SGH-I997 users. You can thank developer scott.hart.bti for bringing the unofficial CyanogenMod 10 to your devices.

Almost everything that works in Ice Cream Sandwich works in this ROM, but there are still a few issues that the developers are working out, such as the GPS being laggy or freezing when it is used and Project Butter being uncooperative. Rest assured that the developers are hard at work, so these issues should be fixed in no time.

To learn how to upgrade the Samsung Infuse 4G I997 to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean via CyanogenMod 10, check out our guide below.

Can I update straight from Gingerbread with ClockworkMod Recovery installed?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000478336041 Melissa Jean Hinton

Absolutely NOT! You have to go from Gingerbread to ICS THEN Jellybean. You WILL brick your phone if you don’t.

I have an AT&T model Samsung Infuse, which had been previously rooted and set up with the “RED” Clockwork Mod Recovery module. I followed the instructions as listed above, utilizing the CM-10-20120831-UNOFFICIAL-infuse4g ROM and the “gapps-jb-20120726-signed Google apps package. When I finished the installation and rebooted the phone, I got the “Galaxy S/Cyanogenmod” splash screen, followed by the scroller. It would then come to a welcome screen, where you could select the language, then the screen blacked out, and it would start a reboot. I completely wiped the system and went through the installation again; unfortunately, I got the exact same result. Anyone have an idea as to what I might have done wrong, and what might be the next step to recovery? Thanks in advance.

I went through all the steps of recovery mode up to: “Format System” to realize I should have saved the .zip files [total n00b, I know]. Now my phone is stuck in the Samsung icon page when I reboot – can you help?

I was able to go through the upgrade, but now my phone won’t connect to AT&T. When I go to Settings/Mobile Networks data is enabled. When I select Network Operators it returns “Error while searching for networks”.In About Phones, Network is “Unknown”, Mobile network type is UMTS:3″ and Service State is “Out of service”. HELP!!
