Those based in America may be familiar with the AT&T Tilt aka HTC Kaiser. To put it simply, some good-natured soul has taken the Android OS and ported it to this device, running on top of Windows Mobile 6.5.
The video, which documents this achievement, clearly starts off in Windows Mobile. The actor navigates through the [...]
Just to show you that it can be done, below is a video of the augmented Android user-interface, HTC’s Rosie/Sense, running on a plain old G1. Thanks to HDblog.it, we can see the full glory of HTC’s Sense on the G1. Although your ‘With Google’ device may not be able to automatically gain an upgrade [...]
Haykuro’s Blog has recently announced that they have successfully ported software from the HTC Magic/G2 to be run on the T-Mobile G1. While the build is being reported as completely stable, you may still experience some issues (as listed on the Google Project site). The installation requires root access and a memory card, and requires [...]
Our friend Ricky Cadden of Symbian-Guru.com was nice enough to shoot a video of his Nokia N800 running NITdroid, a port of the Android OS.
NITdroid is very much a work in progress, and it doesn’t run all that smoothly on the N800, which normally runs Nokia’s Maemo environment, but it is nice to see that [...]
Not much to report here yet, but one of the crack talents at the XDA-Developers.com website has managed to get a somewhat working version of Android running on his HTC Touch Diamond.
The Touch Diamond is perhaps a slightly more interesting target for an Android OS port than the Touch/Vogue simply because it has a VGA [...]
Over at the xda-developers forum, someone has managed to get Android ‘ported’ to the HTC Touch, (before you get confused, know that the CDMA Touch is commonly referred to by its codename of Vogue). Obviously, this device was never designed to run Android, yet it appears to do so with little to no fuss. Sure, [...]
While you can see that the system is less than speedy, it is nice to see that somebody has ported the current Android OS 1.0 system to Nokia’s Internet Tablet platform. In this particular case the somebody is the NthCode, and the particular Internet Tablet in question is the keyboard equipped N810.
In fact, NthCode’s CEO, [...]
Rupesh Gujare over at Beagleboard.org has managed to port the Android OS to the Beagleboard development computer. A Beagleboard is an impressive 3 by 3 inch mainboard with a fanless 600mhz ARM CPU, 128MB RAM, graphics chip, video out, headphone jacks, SD/MMS card slot and USB: essentially everything you need for a basic computer.
Android is [...]
A couple of videos have shown up on YouTube that claim to show Android running on a Nokia N95 smartphone, a device that normally runs the Symbian OS with Nokia’s S60 user interface.
Android has been sucessfully ported to Nokia’s Linux based N810 Internet Tablet, as well as a number of HTC smartphones that run Windows [...]
It seems that the guys over at XDA Developers, a Windows Mobile centric hack/developer site, have managed to get Android running on a number of HTC devices.
Leah Geary of Coolsmartphone has it running on his HTC Touch Dual and has posted a number of videos of it working. It took a number of reboots [...]
