Hands-on with ICD’s Ultra Android tablet for Verizon’s LTE network
Well, silly me. Looks like in my post-CES haze, I forgot to post this video and photo gallery. In any case, here’s a very brief hands-on video, and some photos, of the Ultra by ICD. This device was built to run on a test version of Verizon’s LTE 4G network (and is not the larger Vega that is destined for T-Mobile UK, as I had written previously).
The Ultra features a 7-inch resistive touchscreen and a speedy 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra CPU, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of internal storage. There’s also Bluetooth, WiFi,2G/3G connectivity, an HDMI out port, and a 1.3 megapixel camera. I watched the device playing some 1080p high-def movies, and they looked really sweet (as you can see in the photos).
The device was very much in the pre-release stage, and was somewhat unstable, but when it worked, it seemed pretty nice. It will be interesting to see where T-Mobile UK prices this thing. Video and photos after the jump.
