Motorola Motus surfaces, perhaps coming as Backflip?

Motorola Motus

I like to think that Mr Blurry Cam is always rushing around to factory floors and R&D labs, sneaking in back doors, snapping a picture on his 2mm lens spy cam, and then evaporates away to the next device. For me, this is the only explanation as to why the first photo of a new device is always totally useless.

No sooner than the first picture of the Motorola Motus arrives, there suddenly appears to be a full specification list available. A quick source material check reveals that both are from anonymous tipsters, so what can we make of it? The device appears to offer a reverse flip keyboard and a rear directional touchpad. We’re not going to lie, this design is weird. The Dpad may exist on the back of the screen or keyboard and could be useful in taking full advantage of the gestural controls offered by Android. We’re not sure though. A full specification list from anonymous tipster is available after the jump:

  • 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7201A
  • 512 MB ROM
  • 256 MB RAM
  • 3.1 inch display 320 x 480 (HVGA)
  • 5 megapixel camera with LED flash
  • WiFi / Bluetooth 2.0 / GPS
  • OS Android 1.5 with Motoblur
  • GSM 850/900/1800/1900 W-CDMA 850/900/1700/1900/2100
  • Reverse flip keyboard
  • Rear directional touchpad
