HTC to offer Hero’s Sense UI as free upgrade to Taiwanese Magic users

HTC has issued a press release (in Chinese) stating that, among other things, it will offer a free upgrade to HTC Magic users of Chunghwa Telecom that will give Magic the same user interface as found on the HTC Hero. The Hero’s Sense-based UI is one of the few things the Hero offers that the Magic lacks, apart from the Hero’s 5 megapixel camera.

There is no word yet as to when, or if, other carriers will also be able to offer the upgrade, but Chunghwa Telecom users can expect to gain access to it on early October.  We have been told in the past that no such upgrade would be available to “with Google” branded Magics, such as the T-Mobile myTouch 3G.
