BSQUARE to port Flash to Android? Please let it be true!

My friend Peter Rojas, famed former editor-in-chief of both Gizmodo and Engadget, has posted to twitter a couple of statements that indicate that a major carrier has hired BSQUARE to port Adobe Flash to the Android platform.

Presumably the carrier is doing so because Adobe seems unable to get the job done itself.

According to Pete, we should hear some sort of official announcement today.

  1. Not sure if everyone recalls bSquare when they used to also make consumer products. They made a product that was one of the most geewhiz of it’s time, and would be now, if it were still around: bFax. You could fax pretty much anything from your PocketPC (this was back when devices had a modem built in, or PCMCIA/Compact Flash slots to add one). More than once, I was able to receive a faxed document requiring a signature on my device, sign it with my stylus, and fax it back. I was very much disappointed when bSquare changed the way they did business and did away with their consumer software :(
