Android “Cupcake” release to add Bluetooth stereo, virtual keyboards, video recording
A new branch of the Android OS development tree is providing some insight into the future of the operating system’s feature set. The new version of Android, code named “Cupcake”, includes a number of features that were sorely missed in the original 1.0 Android release.
The major new features that are going to be added are as follows:
- Video recording and playback
- Bluetooth stereo support
- On-screen virtual keyboards and keypads
- New browser features like copy/paste, quick searching, and an improved Javascript engine
There is mention of new “x86″ (as in Intel PC processor) support as well. No idea what that would be useful for, though MobleCrunch theorizes that it might be for Netbooks or similar devices.
There is a large list of bug fixes and new features that will be added to the main Android trunk once Cupcake gets merged into it over the next few weeks.
No word yet when we can expect to see these updates actually make it to the G1, though.

I think the fabled G2 is really just the cupcake releases for the G1. Think about it: 1. the list of changes for the G2 are nearly the same list of enhancements from cupcake. 2. They both are rumoured to occur in Jan 2009.
I agree. It’s just to convenient and too easy to make up. There are a lot of morons out there that get their rocks off by making crap up. I’m not saying CellphoneSignal is like that, but there’s a good possibility that its source, or its source’s source, is.

This is shyt I want cupcake now if I dnt get it I’m gnna be pissed I’ve been searching all over the internet for friggin cupcake I h8 having to open up the keyboard 2 search for stuff I’m starting to get thumb fatigue

Using internet is simple as hell. But I can tell y ou right now, it can be very hard, if you are the first time user.
So, first thing I suggest – open the Explorer, and type in the address you like.
You’ll get there really fast, it depends on your connection speed.
