Microsoft to port Silverlight to Android?

It appears that Microsoft is considering porting Silverlight, its competitor to Adobe Flash, over to the Android platform. Microsoft’s Scott Guthrie told TechRadar.com that his company has been unable to get Silverlight onto the Apple iPhone platform because it is still too closed, but that it is watching the Android platform to see how it does in the market.

Microsoft, or anybody, for that matter, is free to develop extensions to the Android platform.
