Moto X phone

X Phone concept

The Moto X phone, which is said to be “contextually aware” and has been confirmed by Motorola recently, is said to be the device having taken an image posted by famed leaker @evleaks on his Twitter account.

No other details have been mentioned in the Tweet, which you can take a look at below, apart from the fact that the image, which looks pretty good in terms of quality, has been taken with the Moto X.

When asked to post the full resolution image, @evleaks has quickly complied. You can take a look at the full image below, so you can get a better idea.

No EXIF data is present in the file, so we’ll have to take the leaker’s word for it. He was the one to also provide some specs of the device, a few days ago. According to said specs (we’ll have to see whether they get confirmed or not), the Moto X phone will have a 720p resolution display and will be powered by a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core MSM8960 Pro CPU and 2GB of RAM memory.

The same source claims that the device would have 16GB of internal memory, a 10-megapixel rear camera (presumably, the one responsible for the image above), as well as a 2-megapixel front shooter and would run Android 4.2.2.

Yes this image is clicked by Motorola Moto X and a blog named Techkiddy has already posted the image with EXIF File, much earlier than evleaks and also shows the face of lady :P

720p resolution? is it 2012? I have the Motorola Rzr HD and very happy with it. I was very excited about the Moto X phone, but with these specs…it is really disappointing. I don’t really care if the phone can predict what I will be doing when I take it out of my pocket— this is not important to me.

Implement features that make life better not features that nobody will use. Wake up Motorolar/Google!!

OK, that proves it…you can’t please everybody.

What’s wrong with HD resolution on the phone? I’m perfectly happy with 720p on a <5" device for example. Also 90% of users don't need top notch specs. $600+ phones are a niche devices like it or not and i hope this phone will be in the mid-range price.

"Implement features that make life better not features that nobody will use.". Ammm two things:
      1. I'm sure Moto is going for useless features, because why come up with something useful.
      2. Phone is not out yet, so no clear definition on what exactly "contextual awareness" features will do for its users.

As a user of Tasker app I'm personally a little excited about smart features that Moto will pack into the X [likely with their bloatware].

Although I'm planning to pickup one of the new jumbophones later this summer/fall, I'm still eager to see what Moto will release after the crazy amount of rumors.

Most of the rumors say the screen size will be 4.3” or 4.5”. I don’t think a 1080p screen has ever been released at those sizes. The smallest is 4.7” (the HTC One), and it’s pretty new. It’s probably pushing the limits of what’s possible right now. And at 468ppi or something like that, it’s close to overkill. Some people may be able to tell the difference between 341ppi (720p at 4.3”) and 468ppi, but it’s probably not enough to make up for the graphical performance penalty.

Then don’t get this phone. Problem solved! The reason why there are Android devices in all shapes, sizes, and specs is that not everyone wants the same thing! it’s what makes Android great!

Look at metadata, the model of the camera is “Xt-1058” manufacterer: Motorola

That is horrible picture quality. I would imagine user error. Or should I say…I hope it’s user error. My old Sensation would take far better pics.
