Huawei Ascend P2

While the Huawei Ascend P2 has yet to be made official, we already know quite a bit about this handset. Now we learn that the phone is also believed to be dust and water proof like the Ascend D2.

The Ascend P2 will feature IP54 certification, which means it is capable of handling a few splashes thrown its way. It also means it is dust protected if not completely dust tight. This might not be as good as the D2′s dust-tight design and its ability to be immersed in water, but it is still considerably more durable than your average smartphone.

Besides its IP54 certification, the Huawei Ascend P2 is also believed to pack solid specs including a 4.5-inch IPS 1080p display, a 1.8GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. Other specs will include 8GB of storage, a 13MP back cam, a 1.3MP front-cam, a 3,000 mAh battery and Android 4.1 out of the box.

Huawei continues to push towards the higher-end smartphone market, and the Ascend P2 is certainly looking pretty impressive. For those in the U.S., let us just hope it arrives a bit sooner the than Ascend P1 did. Based on what we know, what do you think of the Ascend P2, interested or not?

All phones should be water and dust resistant.
