HTC still stuck in homogeneity with ‘Proto’

HTC seems to have lost its way, even on the edge of good news for the company, it still seems stuck in a rut of perpetual failures. The exception, of course, is the One X which sold millions of units worldwide just after its release. HTC has been silent about the device since February, but could it be because we have another winner?

Looking at the specs alone, this could be another One series candidate:

    • a 4-inch WVGA display
    • 5-megapixel camera
    • 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor
    • 9.6mm-thick shell

But judging by the lack of news about the device from the company itself, one is left to wonder, is HTC forming an opinion on their near future with so much upheaval? The company may be unleashing a great smartphone but the world will just have to wait and see. If it so happens that more details are mentioned at IFA next week in Berlin, I wouldn’t be the least surprised.

In the meantime, let’s hope that all of the churning out similar phones is a turning point. If it isn’t, I speculate there may be no HTC come the end of 2013. In regards to details of the Proto, when we find out more (maybe next week) we’ll let you all know!

Is this a device you might want or just another HTC brick?
