Last night we noticed that Verizon had made the HTC Rezound Update 2.01.605.11 documents go live on their website, so we were pretty sure an update was coming in the coming days. What do ya know, it’s now available! So head into Settings > About Phone > System Updates (or something similar), and the update should be sitting there waiting for you.

Here’s the full changelog for Software Version 2.01.605.11:

  • Updated signal strength meter to 5 bar Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI).
  • Screen Timeout issues while connected to Wifi have been resolved.
  • Resolved issue with Mobile Hotspot data stalling while multiple users are connected.
  • Improved audio quality during voice call.
  • Reduced forced closures related to the People application.
  • Improved device stability reduces continuous resets.
  • Resolved issue with Task Manager stopping Mail background service.

I know everyone was hoping for an update to Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich, but we are not quite there yet. Hopefully the next update we see for the HTC Rezound will feature Android 4.0, so all of you Rezound owners can get a taste of Ice Cream Sandwich.

If you happen to notice any other changes please share them in the comments, so other Rezound owners can check them out.

Just updated… Is the phone supposed to reset? Most other updates the phone resets but not this time. After the firmware downloaded my phone made my text message sound and that was it I restarted it to see if it may reset itself but, now I can’t check for new update…?

I just waited for awhile after the firmware downloaded and it eventually restarted again. Working great now.

The update caused my phone to constantly power cycle. Had to factory reset from the htc boot screen. So far it’s been working but it’s only been a few hours. Thanks HTC you would think they would make sure the updates were stable ever since their blunder of a mess called the thunderbolt. Took them several ota updates to finally get that phone fixed. Hopefully this isn’t going to be the same

I had the same issue with mine. After taking off the battery door it quit as network was disabled. The issue came from a problem with the phone putting it-self in CDMA only mode on the cellular radio. Switching to CDMA/LTE while the batter door was off then re-attaching it fixed the issue.

I have noticed the battery life has improved about 2X. I forgot to put my phone on charger one night and the next day it was still at 71% which before would have been in the 30 – 40% range.
