The folks over at Silicon.com got a first hand look at the latest and greatest technology that Qualcomm has to offer. Of interest to the Android lovers amongst us is an upcoming lineup of smartbooks…
A crudely scanned slide deck detailing HTC’s portfoilo for Q1 and Q2 2010 was leaked by B3ler3fonte over at xda-developers. Described as a prototype brochure, the document was distributed at a global conference hosted by HTC in Vienna during the month of October. Of the eight handsets slated for launch in the first half of 2010, five of them are Android! We have the Legend, the Salsa, the Bravo, the Tide, and the Buzz. Remember that leaked HTC Android 2.1 ROM that contained codenames for future HTC devices? The Legend and Bravo are included on the list. Let’s not waste any more time and delve into the juicy details about each of these handsets. Hit the jump for a quick description and the full specifications for each of these upcoming Android mobile phones.
HTC presented these phones, not in order of release, but by marketing category and we will adhere to these categories. For each of the slides below, click on the image to get the full size version. In the Design/Lifestyle category, we have the HTC Legend and the HTC Salsa. Fashioned in the style of the HTC Magic/Hero with a clickable optical mouse is the HTC Legend. The Legend feature a slim with an aluminum frame and is expected to launch in March 2010.
The Salsa features a boxy-design with a front-facing QWERTY keyboard and is a social networking powerhouse with built-in support for Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and Friendstream. The Salsa is expected to arrive in June 2010.
Next up is the Social category which is comprised of the Tide and the Buzz. The Tide is a standard candybar which features strong social networking integration and offers users the convenience of both a touchscreen and a numeric keypad. The Tide is slated for launch in April 2010.
Hot on the heels of the Tide is the Buzz. Slated for a May 2010 launch, the Buzz is a full touchscreen device with interchangeable full front covers.
Last but not least is the performance category represented by the HTC Bravo. The Bravo is the flagship device for HTC in early 2010 and features a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 3.7 inch WVGA AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display and DivX support.
Sound a bit familiar? It should as it is reportedly the rumored HTC Dragon/Passion. From the specs, this is the GSM variant of the handset and is expected to launch in April 2010. No mention of the CDMA variant that is rumored to be launching with Verizon Wireless. One can only hope that it was overlooked because its launch was not in Q1/Q2 2010 but much sooner in Q4 2009. Fingers crossed.
