Finding free phones isn't overly difficult when signing a contract is involved. There are many carriers worldwide that will swallow the price of a phone to get you locked into a contract where you pay them lots of money. The good news, though, is that you get a free phone out of it. Now, on the EE network in the UK, you can get a free HTC One SV LTE with a new contract.

If you're not familiar with the HTC One SV LTE, it's a pretty decent midrange device. It has a 4.3″, 480 by 800 resolution screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 2. It has 8GB internal storage with up to 32GB expandable storage via Micro SD and a 1.2GHz dual core processor. It is very similar to the HTC One S on T-Mobile. For full specs, check here.

Is getting the HTC One SV LTE a good deal?

Well, it's kind of hard to argue that a free phone is not a good deal. With the specs, the phone should perform fairly well for the length of the contract. So if you need a cheap option, this is definitely a good one. EE's plan rates aren't unreasonable, at least compared to United States carriers. Getting 5GB of 4G data with unlimited talk and text runs you £51.00. Not the cheapest option, but not bank-breaking either.

Is anyone going to be picking up one of these?

Of course it is not a good deal. Are you a few sandwiches short of a picnic?

Here in the states, 4GB of 4G data with unlimited talk and text is about £70.00 from Verizon. Those are crazy rates. Although they’re probably higher than average across the ocean :)
