    HTC One Mini

After countless leaks and teasers, the HTC One Mini is now official so we can finally look at its specs, features, release date and pricing.

    Specs and features

Considering the numerous reports that have listed rumored specs for the new HTC One family member, we can’t say we’re surprised by what the phone will have to offer in terms of hardware.

When it comes to design, the phone looks pretty much like the device spotted in those leaked images we kept showing you. The HTC One Mini is made of aluminum (back plate) and polycarbonate (sides and front), and appears to look more or less like its bigger and more famous brother.

Without actually mentioning solid release dates, the company revealed that the handset will hit select markets in August, and will be rolled out globally in September. The phone will be available in Glacial Silver and Stealth Black.

A few days ago we heard the phone could hit the UK on August 9, although that release date is yet to be confirmed.

Pricing details will likely be unveiled in the coming weeks, as carriers prepare to launch the new handset – HTC did not mention the cost of an unlocked HTC One Mini at this time.

Moreover, the handset is likely to be available from AT&T later this year, at least according to leaked screenshots obtained by Android Police which seem to show a HTC One Mini test version running on the carrier’s 4G LTE network.

The HTC One is a far better option than this – there is only a slight difference in size.

      • MasterMuffin

Of course One’s better, this is a mini device for the small handed people who are on a smaller budget

        • Locutus

It’s not that small though. And 2012 flagships are in the same price range as these mini phones.

          • Bjajjull

I prefer the One Mini over S3. Better GPU and almost as good CPU as the S3. And the S3 has PenTile…

          • MasterMuffin

But it’s smaller and I don’t quite get the point of the last part of your comment. My point still remains

            • Locutus

I meant the Galaxy S3 is cheaper than the Galaxy S4 Mini, I suspect the One X+ will be cheaper than the HTC One Mini. The Galaxy S3 and HTC One X+ are far better options in my opinion.

            • MasterMuffin

Now I got it. You’re absolutely right on that one

      • Balraj

Price when compared to India !!!

    • Balraj

No micro sd slot and no replaceable battery
      Not my cup of coffee

      • MasterMuffin

What did you expect, One doesn’t have those either

        • Balraj

I play lots of games..so according to certain previous rumours,I thought micro sd card would have been superb.nova & many other games will eat of internal storage
So I was a bit disappointed
But this is one sexy phone for a mid range device :-)

          • MasterMuffin

Just wait for MC5, 2,5GB at least :D

            • poop

              Sorry, but what’s MC5?

            • MasterMuffin

              Modern Combat 5

    • Vincent

I’m happy with my 4.7″ HTC One, but I know quite a few people out there who are still waiting for an Android flagship with a small screen. Why is a 4″ flagship with 2GB RAM and a snapdragon 600 processor, with a reasonable 720p display impossible to find?

Samsung found a profitable niche with oversized phones, surely there must be an Android OEM somewhere out there willing to take a gamble on “undersized” flagship phones?

      • OMGgary

Well, there are rumours that Sony has a “Honami mini” in the works, with a Snap 800 and other flagship specs, but with a 4″-4.3″ display. So perhaps that will break open the niche.

        • Victor V.

hmm that would definitely be an interesting smartphone. I wonder if that would drive a lot of people make the leap from apple to android?A small smartphone with flagship specs to shake things up a bit.

    • Luka Mlinar

I’m just glad HTC decided to stop at 4,7″. Now Motorola joined in. Looks like we finally decided to end it there and that is the optimal size if you ask me. We can always hotspot a 7″ tablet if we need to do some work.

      • Luka Mlinar

Also we might see the mini standard set at 4,3″ as well :)

      • MasterMuffin

Only HTC and Motorola (and Nokia) are ending there, just look at LG, Samsung, Sony, anyone else

        • Luka Mlinar

Who cares. It takes a majority to set a standard and since the rest are scattered all over the place, it don’t take much to form one.

    • Ares

Title says pricing. I can’t even see the price. lol

    • Lee

1GB RAM,16 GB storage?one would rather buy nexus 4 at this price range or previous years flagship phones including one X and s3.And not to mention one S (s4) version which will be updated to sense 5.I was wating for this phone but HTC disappoints again.

    • Misti curia

DDR3 ram? Doesn’t the one only have DDR2

    • Влатко Стојанов

      I smell abandoning…

    • Sudeepto Dutta

1/2 the gig from the one
1/2 the screen res from the one
1/2 the internal storage from the one
1/2 the no of cores from the one …

They should’ve named it HTC HALF … :)

    • xtriker360

16 GB? lol what a joke

    • dandroid13

OMG HTC, the same looks! Are you becoming the new Samsung? Where’s the “innovation”? LOL

      • Balraj

        Dude seriously
They is a reason why the phone is called htc one mini
I think you have completely lost it
        Lol lol

        • dandroid13

And I think you didn’t get my point. :P

    • Balraj

This phone is only for ppl who can live with 12gb free storage and 1800mah battery for a day
And also who needs a nice super looking(sexy) device at budget point
So ppl can still get this device
Only if htc prices it well in India, it will sell well
Or another flop, htc is selling desire 600 for 25k inr & more
      Ridiculous !!!

    • HTC One

wish it has 8 megapixel not 4 mp it sucks
