Official HTC One Max power flip case announced, features 1,200 mAh flexible battery

Earlier today, HTC took the wraps of the HTC One Max, a giant-sized 5.9-inch smartphone that essentially features the same specs as the original HTC One but blown up to massive proportions. A larger phone has bigger power needs however, and thankfully HTC was kind enough to throw in a hefty 3,300 mAh battery.

HTC boasts that the One Max’s high-capacity battery should be able to provide users with 25-28 hours of talk time, and stand-by time of at least 393 hours. Still, those who plan on using the new smartphone for intense gaming and multimedia might find that they would like even more battery power at their disposal. That’s where the official HTC One power flip case could come in handy.

Not only does the flip case help protect the HTC One Max, it props it up and makes it easier to use for watching videos or typing. Even more significant, the device features a 1,200 mAh flexible battery – yes, the battery is actually flexible, though only to a certain extent.

Connecting the case to the HTC One Max is also very easy, thanks to three pogo pins found on the phone’s back.

The 3,300 mAh battery alone sounded like more than enough to make it through a day or more without needing a charge, but with the HTC One Max power flip case it tow, battery charging worries practically become a thing of the past.

There is currently no information on pricing or a specific release date for the official case. It’s very likely that the case accessory will ship around the same time as the HTC One Max, so hopefully we’ll know more very soon.

What do you think of the HTC One Max and its new power case? Interested or not?

    You can put a ring on a monkey…but it stays a monkey…

    • RanRu

But if you clad a monkey with faux leather and give him MOAR POWAH, he is a much better monkey.

  • Christian Campbell

Actually, it looks pretty nice. If I had an HTC One Max, I would consider this case.

Can’t get used to flip cases myself but each to their own…

Much better case than what the competition has to offer!

        But it’s too big

HTC Also has an external 3000mAh+ portable charger but this is a nice idea without adding much volume

  • Eduardo Lima

the device itself has 10.9mm thick and with this case/battery???

This will be easily the thickest device on the market. Personally i dont like.

  • ProudToBePinoy

    Oh like the Sony one?

  • kittykat

    i need more power!!!

  • RanRu

Is the battery part inside of the bendy hingey-thingy? And many times can it bend (and how far) before it gives the ghost?

Also, what does it taste like?

    I need more JUICE!!

Why is HTC even bothering to bundle an external battery that would barely provide one fifth the charge of the phone’s original battery? I assume the case is going to charge the phone externally (like a morphie case), in which case you are only going to get around 60% efficiency in power transfer.

At this point, I may as well settle for a thinner and lighter case, and carry around a juicepack or something.

I like the idea of ” case is not only case”. I hate to bring the big power bank all day. Can I get one for my S3?
