HTC One M7 users will find very few issues with 2013’s legendary device. It continues to be an amazing smartphone and today it’s getting even better for those who hold a Canadian version. HTC Canada has started rolling out the Sense 6.0 update for the One M7!

Update version 5.11.661.8 should weigh in about 668 MB. This is happening shortly after January’s Sense 5.5 update, so there is not much to be improved just yet. There are a few small adjustments, however, including the addition of better theme/font support, Extreme Power mode and more. Probably the most exciting change is the addition of the Sense 6.0 camera app, which many of you will enjoy.

The newer camera app is much sleeker and easier to understand than the older version. Not to mention, it offers some newer features like Image Match (helps you find similar photos faster) and support for Point of Interest locations in map view. There may be some hardware limitations due to the lack of the M8’s secondary camera, but most of the features from the One M8 should remain intact.

What about the U.S. versions?

HTC Canada’s update is ahead of schedule. The Taiwanese manufacturer was aiming for an update by the end of May, and we still have some weeks in front of us until then. The U.S. and Canadian versions of the HTC One M7 were to get the update by the same deadline, so that means the U.S. version updates shouldn’t be too far behind.

HTC’s software update information tells us Most U.S. versions are now in “Certification” stage. This can get a bit tricky with carriers, but this is considered to be the very last stage before a software update is rolled out.

The Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, unlocked and Developer versions of the One M7 are all almost ready. Only T-Mobile is falling behind as it sticks around “Development” stage. But don’t worry, it should be just a matter of time before we all have Sense 6.0.

Meanwhile, HTC One M7 owners who are with Rogers, Bell or TELUS can now go straight to Settings>About>Software Update and check if an upgrade is available. You should get a notification soon, as well.
