Just last month HTC officially took the wraps off its golden colored HTC One variant, promising the handset would arrive to Europe in time for Christmas. True to their word, the golden HTC One is now available through UK retailers Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4u.

At least for the moment, there doesn’t seem to be any other retailer listings for the champagne gold model outside of the two UK retailers, but this could change shortly. It’s also still unclear if/when HTC plans to release the color to other markets such as North America.

For those interested in picking up the golden HTC One, it’s important to note that both retailers are selling the handset strictly on contract and not SIM-free. As for the price of the handset, it will vary considerably, depending on the monthly plan and carrier you choice to sign up with — though it is possible to walk away with the phone for free with 2-year contract.

So is there anything special about the champagne gold HTC One, other than the color? Honestly, no.

Spec-wise, we’re talking about the same Snapdragon 600 powered handset with 2GB of RAM and a 4.7-inch 1080p display. Other specs include a 4 UltraPixel camera, BoomSound stereo speakers, a 2300 mAh battery and 32GB of storage. because you can crab a One for 350-400€ new with holidays discounts, the Next One won’t be out till end of february begining of march, and not hitting the selves and some regions till some weeks after that, a good 4 months, we should see the next One around WMC or a few weeks after that
