HTC launched the One in silver and slate black and followed on the two classics with the snazzy Glamour Red in July and the electric Vivid Blue that debuted last week. When we’ve asked HTC’s PR at IFA if more color options are coming to the popular One, they offered a very generic “we’re always looking for new options”. That was clearly the only answer they could give on record, but as it turns out, a new color option for the One might just be around the corner.
The images below recently surfaced on the Chinese equivalent of Twitter. Take them with a healthy dose of salt, because we haven’t heard about a golden HTC One model from any other source so far. The shots seem to show the body of an HTC One adorned in a muted golden coating that, at least to our eyes, looks pretty similar to the champagne gold on the new iPhone 5s.
For what is worth, the shots are very similar to those that showed the Vivid Blue model ahead of its launch, which lends them some extra credibility. On the other hand, this might be just a prototype meant for internal testing or just a botched unit, so don’t put your hopes too high.
