HTC One Android 4.3 update apparently leaked, available as custom ROM

by: Chris SmithAugust 25, 2013

A pre-release Android 4.3 version for the HTC One is already available as a custom ROM, with the full Android 4.3 build expected to be released in the coming weeks.

Well known developer LlabTooFeR has posted the ROM on xda-developers – the Maximus HD 12.0.0 ROM, which is based on firmware version 3.09.401.1. – and according to Android Central he will release the “untouched firmware” on August 28, at 10 AM GMT.

A few days ago, HTC confirmed that the U.S. and Canadian HTC One versions and the HTC Droid DNA will be moved directly to Android 4.3 by the end of September, so we’re not surprised to see the software get leaked considering that it should be released in the coming weeks.

In case you want to experience Maximus HD 12.0.0, you can check out the Source links below for detailed set up information, although we’ll remind you that we don’t encourage you to install any custom ROM on your devices, and whatever you put your device through falls under your responsibility.

That said, here’s what Maximus HD 12.0.0 has to offer:

  • New Base 3.09.401.1
  • Android 4.3
  • Added Bluetooth 4.0 LE support
  • Added OpenGL ES 3.0 Support
  • Added Google Wi-Fi Scanning Feature
  • Added Google Games
  • Added Ability to Wipe Device Remotely
  • Added Ability to use HTC TV in countries without TV programs available.
  • Updated Kernel
  • Updated AppDrawer
  • Updated System Fonts
  • Updated OEM Apps
  • Many other changes

Are you installing Maximus HD 12.0.0, or are you waiting for the official Android 4.3 update?

Gave up on HTC. They didn’t even bother releasing a 4.2.2 update for my HTC One Developer Edition. First and last HTC phone ever!

    • Charles Chambers

They said they were skipping 4.2.2 to go straight to 4.3. It’s frustrating to have to wait so long for the update. I blame the carriers. HTC was pretty fast about getting the update out to all the international carriers. I think the US carriers drag their feet.

      • SNAKE3Y3Z

I am not even in the US. I bought the phone from there during my trip.

        • MoshuXXL

It doesn’t matter where you. The update for the Developer Edition comes for everyone at the same time.

    • Simon Belmont

Um. You do realize that your Developer Edition is getting Android 4.3 soon, too, right?

So, you’re mad because it’s skipping Android 4.2.2 and going right to the latest version of Android? Yeah, how dare HTC try to leapfrog an Android version in the name of giving you something newer/better.

      You are a pathetic twat.

    • poppo

Gotta root its the best way to go

  • Charles Chambers

What versions is this for? Would it work with the T-Mobile version?

    • parsa

If you have an unlocked boot loader and custom recovery then yes it will work

A pre-release Android 4.3 version for the HTC One is already available as a custom ROM, with the full Android 4.3 build expected to be released in the coming weeks…

    Really… In the coming weeks…
HTC is like Samsung, great on promising, short on delivering…
Hope that Motorola learned from Google, but I don’t think so…
They’ll promise everything to get your money…

    • ruckusDecay

bro its not HTC it’s the carriers those fuckers decide when they’ll give you the update stop blaming HTC bro should bought the Dev Edition

  • Vincent Goh

    Waiting arhd of course.

  • chris

    Waiting for the offical release..

  • htc good for nothing

What about Australia.. when the updates gonna be here. Looks like it’s taking forever. .that’s crap. I was with Samsung but I gave a shot to HTC and it’s not happening here.. i. Would make sure that everyone should knw about the promising service of HTC… had enough

    • ruckusDecay

Its the carriers bro the carriers they have to put all their crap in it . unless you the Dev edition from straight from HTC then you’ll get it without the Carriers crap on it but if you bought the phone from a carrier its ur dam fault u can’t afford a 600 $ phone call you quit bitching

    • Luke

Australia’s HTC One was updated. If you did not get the update take it up with your carrier. Updates go Google to HTC to Carrier to you. Unless you have an unlocked device. And if you have an unlocked device you have 4.2.2 and will get 4.3 or might skip 4.3 and go to 5.0

  • Rico Nizzo

    That’s why I’m running Cyanogenmod! :D

  • Nah I will wait until ViperOne has been updated to 4.3. One of the best roms on the One personally.

  • Simon Belmont

Nice. OpenGL ES 3.0 just in time for Asphalt 8.
