Here comes the second One! Members of the media have begun receiving Invitations to the launch event of HTC’s next flagship.

The event will take place on March 25, and, just like last year, HTC will hold two presentations at the same time in London and New York. That’s about all we got from HTC in terms of official info, but even if the M8 is not mentioned anywhere, we’re confident that HTC is gearing up to unveil its new flagship.

The company said through its Chairwoman Cher Wang that it plans to send out invitations for the M8 launch this week, while famed leaker of all things mobile @evleaks tweeted a while ago that HTC would introduced the new One to the world in late March in New York. It looks like he was spot on.

We’re still not sure how the new device will be called, though our money is on the clean HTC One (2014). After all, it makes sense for HTC to continue with the One brand, given that the M8 shares many design traits and software features with last year’s edition.

On the hardware side, we expect a 5-inch Full HD screen, a Snapdragon 800 processor, and an improved UltraPixel camera. Stay tuned for a full roundup of all the information, official or not, that we have on the M8.

I still don’t understand why there’s a second smaller rear camera. I’m looking forward to see their explanation and hopefully they’ll get rid of that awful color that was leaked!

well im hoping its going to be an ultra pixel sensor (the big one) and a normal sensor that they do some magic on to combine and make an awesome shot. As long as its not 3D, whatever they do with 2 sensors is going to be new and interesting!

yup 3D would be too gimmicky :)

lol I had a theory about this and I’ve already post it, it’s for 3D (while it can do 3D) btw the other camera is not small at all.
it’s probably a set of 13mpx camera + 4mp “ultrapixel you get the best of both worlds with the addition of some amazing features that the combination of both could offer( explanation in my previous post), As for the color I’m sure there was rumors that the device will be presented in a variant of colors, and the original silver and black would be present of course

can’t find that post but I sure hope for HTC that it isn’t just for 3D

Interferometry? Seems like a long shot, but you’ll never know. In few days we’ll see!

I doubt it’s 3D they have no reason for doing so as there no market, and they had the experience with the EVO 3D, there might be 3D functionality as a gimmick since there are 2 cameras, but that woudn’t be the main reason for 2 cameras here

The design of the invite seems to imply they might debut a smart watch of some sort… Either that or maybe the new way sense ui will look

That’s sweet of you HTC, leaving the whole month gap for the GALAXY S5 hype to subside!
