An HTC representative recently told EngadgetMobile that the company expects the updates and enhancements found in the “Cupcake” branch of the Android OS development tree to eventually make it to the G1 that it manufacturers for T-Mobile.
The rep also said that it was up to T-Mobile and Google to do, however, and that HTC is not involved directly in the process and has no idea as to a potential time frame for the updates to be released to the G1 over the air.
So we don’t know when, and we don’t know for sure if it will happen, but it seems likely at this point. That’s something.
