HTC EVO 4G shortages could curb Sprint’s 4G lead
For some reason HTC have run very low on the Evo 4G. This is unfortunate for HTC, but perhaps even more so for Sprint Nextel. The carrier is relying on the Evo 4G to lead the way for consumers to their 4G cellular network. Spring are currently the only major carriers with an up-and-running LTE network, leaving major competitors such as AT&T and Verizon firmly within their wake.
The CEO of Sprint recently commented to the Wall Street Journal, resigning himself to the fact that the head-start they were hoping for with their 4G network was shrinking with ever day the Evo 4G could not match demand. The Evo 4G is delayed without a shipment date in sight on Sprint’s website, having already sold 300,000 units. Incidentally, delays continue for the HTC Droid Incredible as HTC await delivery of the AMOLED screen made by Samsung. I guess Samsung put the screen in their own phones first, and send the left-overs to HTC!
