While the most anticipated Android smartphone of the summer is the Samsung Galaxy S3, which is supposed to be launched in early July by Verizon, that’s not the only new LTE handset Verizon subscribers should be aware of. The HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE is also expected to hit stores soon, and a new report claims the phone has been pushed back to July.

Droid-Life says it has received multiple notifications suggesting that the Droid Incredible 4G LTE will not be available in stores in June, with July 5 looking like the most probable launch for the device.

We will remind you that the Verizon Galaxy S3 is said to be launched on July 11, just a week after the Droid Incredible 4G LTE if today’s rumor is true.

The Droid Incredible 4G LTE packs a 4-inch Super LCD display with 960 x 540 qHD resolution, 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB memory, microSD support, 8-megapixel camera, 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, 4G LTE support and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense 4.0 on top.

The phone is expected to retail for $149.99 with new two-year contracts, or $50 less than the cheapest Galaxy S3 version that’s going to be available from Verizon. The carrier has not confirmed the price or the release date of the new Droid Incredible 4G LTE at this time.

What Android smartphone will you buy from Verizon this summer?

Verizon really needs to get on it with this phone, there are a lot of people waiting for it, including myself, and its disappointing that there is still no official word yet from them. If I was HTC I would be a little annoyed.

  • I have been waiting and waiting for this phone. Hopefully it will arrive on July 5th. Love the 4″ screen size.

At this point 2 weeks doesn’t seem like that long to wait. But then again, neither does September.
