HTC Doubleshot, which actually was a codename for the soon-to-debut T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide, has been photographed by unnamed info sources of Boy Genius Report (BGR). Here are the photos (courtesy of BGR):

Although the off-focus double shots of the HTC Doubleshot look like they’re viewed by one with double vision, the snaps are clear enough to dispel some of the previous rumors about this QWERTY smartphone, as well as confirm other rumors.

For instance, the T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide has been rumored to sport a 3D screen. BGR’s source confirmed the rumor to be false. And, yeah, the 8-megapixel camera is there, all right. The phone’s back cover is made of shiny metal.

It also only has a 4-row QWERTY slider keyboard. That will surely disappoint the 5-row fans. But, hey, it’s a slider! (Hooray!) And, BGR reports that the keyboard keys are “squishy” like those of the T-Mobile G2.

The phone features the latest HTC Sense UI 3.0, with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread powering it.

BGR’s source described the myTouch 4G Slide as smooth-running as the HTC Sensation and “much faster than the T-Mobile myTouch 4G.” Sounds awesome, right? Although, if you ask me, that comment is a tacit confirmation that the myTouch 4G Slide does have a 1.2-GHz dual-core processor underneath, just like the HTC Sensation and unlike the myTouch 4G, which only has a single-core.

Just this week, the myTouch 4G Slide also slid through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and has been assigned the FCC ID NM8PG59100. The myTouch 4G Slide’s visit at the FCC means its release date is just around the bend. Rumors say T-Mobile will launch it on July 6, or some time in the first half of July.

Stay awake with a double shot espresso while waiting for this slider to come out.
