By Bogdan Petrovan February 21, 2013 0 24 2 0 HBO hasn’t exactly provided the best experience to Android users, with the iOS versions of the cable giant’s apps consistently receiving more attention. Albeit slowly, this situation is changing, with the latest example being an update to the HBO Go and Max Go apps that enables HDMI output.Advertisement After you update your HBO Go app, you will be able to connect your tablet or smartphone to your TV via a regular HDMI cable and enjoy your shows and movies on a large HD screen. Earlier this month, iPad and iPhone users received a similar update that allowed them to stream HBO content to their TVs via AirPlay. It’s good to see HBO embracing mobile, instead of limiting the scope of its apps or downright refusing to offer its content on the so-called second screen. I guess the piracy rates of high-profile shows like Game of Thrones have something to do with it. Both HBO Go and Max Go received the update, with the Play Store changelog only mentioning the support for HDMI out as new in this version. Both apps are free, but you’ll have to be an HBO subscriber in order to use them. Head over to Google Play to download the apps or to update them to the latest version. 0 24 2 previous postQualcomm says their new RF360 solution will solve the 4G LTE band problemnext postWhite House petition to legalize mobile unlocking reaches 100K goal.
