Fans of fiendish brain teasers will be glad to hear that the insanely gorgeous, multi-award-winning puzzle game Gorogoa is finally on its way to Android. The title crept onto the Google Play Store earlier today (h/t The Android Soul), with pre-registration now open ahead of a full launch in what we hope is the very near future.

Gorogoa is an incredibly unique game from the mind of indie developer Jason Roberts, with a touching narrative that plays out across comic book-like panels. Each set of images, which are brought to life with stunning, hand-drawn animation, offers a new set of puzzles to solve by manipulating the scenes with simple taps and gestures.

If that sounds a little odd conceptually, trust me when I say that the execution is spot on and makes complete sense when moving between new sets of panels.

Gorogoa debuted on PC, Nintendo Switch, and iOS devices back at the tail end of 2017. PS4 and Xbox One releases followed in March and publisher Annapurna Interactive had promised that an Android version was in the works.

There’s no word on pricing just yet, but it is likely to mirror the iPhone/iPad version’s $4.99 price tag. There are no in-app purchases or ads either.

Annapurna Interactive is carving a nice little niche area for itself in the indie and mobile gaming market. The Californian publisher brought the equally lovely Florence to the Play Store earlier this year and has plenty of impressive publishing credits to its name elsewhere, including the wonderful PC and console game, What Remains of Edith Finch.

You can pre-register to hear about Gorogoa’s imminent release on Android before anyone else via the button below.
