Google-Santa-Tracker

Ho, ho, ho! The smell of eggnog is almost in the air. If you’re looking to kill some time before Christmas, Google has that covered, as it launches the Santa Tracker Android app and website, where you can visit St. Nick’s hometown in the North Pole (where else?), follow his journey delivering gifts, and engross yourself in other festivities.

As explained by the bearded man, the Google Maps Santa Tracker allows you to track “his progress around the world, and also learn a little about some of his stops along the way.” But since Santa won’t depart for another 4.5 days, you can use the time to visit the village where he dwells alongside the elves.

Santa-greeting

The workshop and cafeteria are interesting, as is the mini sleigh racing game that you can play, but our fave is talking to Santa and have him call your friends and family to wish them a very merry Christmas.  To personalize the calls, you have to give their names, numbers, and other details. This only works for folks in North America, though. Alternatively, you can send the greetings via e-mail and Google+.

And to help get you into the holiday spirit, check out this acoustic version of “All I Want from Christmas is You”, as performed by Mariah Carey and Jimmy Fallon with The Roots, on YouTube.

I just have to say this: Santa lives in Finland (though some people say north pole or norway) :)

Too bad it doesn’t work on the Galaxy Note 2. My kids would love it.
