There is some good news for those of you in the UK who have been trying to get your hands on a Nexus 4. Google has taken delivery of a new batch of the phones and they are now officially in stock. According to the Google Play store delivery is now 3 to 5 days. The 8GB version of the phone, made by LG on Google’s behalf, is £239, while the 16GB version costs £279.00.
The Nexus 4 has been a great success for Google, so much so that it has had supply and demand problems! All over the world the phone appears in stock and then shortly disappears again as enthusiastic users snap up the current batch. The device is highly coveted. Its amazing price point plus the great Android experience along with some excellent hardware makes its popularity understandable. Another key point is that the Nexus 4 is just pure, unadulterated Android. No extra user interfaces added on top, something that companies like Samsung and HTC love to do. This is Android as Google intended!
The magic pricing, experience and hardware combination in the Nexus 4 has caught LG off guard and the company admitted last year that “demand via the Play Store has been very high.” Likewise in January, Google’s CEO Larry Page acknowledged that there was a problem in meeting demand for the phone, however he said that solving the phone shortage problem is a top priority Google.

Bought yesterday & waiting for it to get delivered
I bought one and it has constant dropped WiFi issues. My droid 2. Roku 2, and Xoom have no problems. Google it it is thousands of angry customers with WiFi issues. You can’t hardly download anything from the play store without praying the connection doesn’t drop…then bam it disconnects….tried tech support and they try to blame my router that works fine with everything else. Stay away!

Had it for a few weeks now, and coming from an HTC One X, this just knocks it right outta the water! I love the Vanilla Android experience. No bloatware.
I have not had any issues whatsoever. Running XenonHD ROM. Fast and smooth. Absolutely a dream to use.
Will never get anything but Vanilla Android from now on.
Got mine a few months ago and love the phone. I came from a gs3. I’ve had the WiFi issue but it’s not that often. My only real problem is the infamous camera issue where it locks up and more than once had to do a factory reset. Just got a replacement two days ago

I ordered a nexus 4, 6 days ago and expected it to be shipped by today after calling the google support team yesterday. Although checking my order status this morning I have now found out that it has been CANCELLED citing that my “user item limit has been exceeded” despite only ordering one device! I have since called the support team again and been told my case has been forwarded onto a specialist via email! So I am still unsure as to whether they truly have devices in stock…so be aware

Bought one last week, currently sending it back (too many issues to tell). What a disappointment.
I’ve had mine for about a month, no major issues to speak of, it does run a little hot with intense streaming or gaming, and I managed to get a small crack on the back panel, which I’m finding out is very common (either sending it in for repairs or getting dbrand skin to cover it up, it is small but bothersome to me since it is brand new), I love the pure android experience. So much so that I’m considering a nexus 10 (though the don’t tablet is very sexy, if it ever reaches America), my only wish is that my laptop was up so that I can root it, I’ve never rooted anything on my life but it seems fairly easy and besides, why else get a nexus for right?! i ordered a nexus on the 13th, said shipping on the 17th even though the email said 2 day shipping. i have emailed every day and been told a specialist has had my case referred. Heard nothing since. I am not impressed with their customer service at all. They could be honest and say due to high demand there is now a delay etc, but nothing not even an expected date. i am stuck with a broken iphone, which i have hated from day one.
google, please be honest with your customers on delivery dates.
I ordered a nexus 4 on 7th March, a week later my order was still showing as pre order which I couldn’t understand as when I had ordered 3 to 5 day delivery was quoted. Phoned google after a week,to be told an email would be sent to a shipping ‘specialist.’ I was happy with the response as at least it was being looked into. Next morning I checked my gmail and the order had been cancelled, citing ‘stuck order’ and that’s was all that was said. Pathetic service.
I reordered and I thought I had progress as my order went through to pending…and that is where it’s been for the last four working days. I’m not confident it is actually going to go through and surprisingly to me the whole customer service experience from google has been one of the worst I’ve experienced. When dealing with a large multinational you expect a certain level of customer service; at the very least you expect the order to go through and the product to be delivered. If all of this fails surely you contact the customer to advise them or at least acknowledge the emails you have received. Sadly google have struggled on all fronts.
All that considered I am still confident that it will be a great phone…..if it ever arrives.
