It’s update Wednesday, and that means we can expect at least a few Google app updates to trickle out as the day progresses. First on the list is Google Play Music, which has been updated from v5.6.1609 to 5.6.1616. Yes, that’s a pretty minor version number change, but surprisingly there are at least two noticeable changes in this update.

First up, there’s a brand new 1×1 widget that allows you to quickly access the “I’m feeling lucky” radio. Basically you place the widget on your homescreen and then it’s just a matter of tapping on the die icon, it’ll roll and you’ll start listening to some random tune.

As for the second noticeable change? The 4×1 widget for music control has received a visual makeover. And that’s it, aside from some likely unspecified bug fixes and minor performance enhancements.

As we’ve come to expect from Google, the update will be rolling out slowly over the next couple days. While none of the changes are all that urgent, if you’d rather not wait any longer than you have to, you can grab the update for manual installation by clicking here.

That’s fine, but I don’t like everything turning white lately. Has Google been infiltrated by the Guilty Remnant?

Maybe they can change the music app the show the whole frickin’ album cover instead of that crap where the sides are cut off.
