Two years ago, Google acquired Launchpad Toys, the startup behind the original Toontastic app. Now, the online search giant has finally announced the new version of the app called Toontastic 3D for Android devices.

Toontastic 3D allows kids to draw, animate as well as narrate their own cartoons. It is quite simple to use, as all you have to do is move the characters around on the screen and tell your story. There are plenty of them available in the app. You can choose from a selection of swashbuckling pirates, transforming robots, nefarious villains, and others.

If you’re feeling creative, you can design your very own characters by using built-in 3D drawing tools or even add yourself into the story with photos and custom colored characters. You’ll also find quite a few songs in the app that will make the final product even more interesting and entertaining.

In a recent blog post, Google said it hopes that the Toontastic 3D app will spark kids’ imagination and at the same time empower them to create, invent, and develop their creative skills for the jobs of the future.

The Toontastic 3D app is already available and is free of charge. If you’re interested in trying it out, visit the Google Play Store and download it to your device by clicking the button below.
