Seeing how Android got more and more boring on its way from Jelly Bean to Kit Kat … the poll clearly forgot to include

    Lust Lacker

Up to Jelly Bean I was really excited about new Android announcements. Since Kit Kat however I can’t care less about what stupidity the next iteration will bring to the table. The system got boring, the Google Apps got boring and bastardized (suck it up, Hangouts sucks hairy balls compared to ye goode ol’ “Talk”) there’s nothing new and amazing happening anymore. My two cents in the matter.

    • asd

But its still quite an advanced OS

      • Jochen Blacha

It surely is, and way better than this thing from that tree-fruit company which is now steal… err.. borrowing from Android just to patent the bits and pieces as their own idea in the future. ;)

Let’s see what we’re going to see during I/O – I just don’t think that “L” is going to be a huge “wow!”, but I stand to be corrected. If you hang your expectations low you can only get surprised.

    • erod434

That’s because 4.1-4.4 were all minor updates adding polish to an already feature rich os. You can’t expect ui overhauls every update and hangouts is the only ‘bad’ gapp all the other ones especially maps work great. But I understand where you are coming from though.

      • Jochen Blacha

        While watching I/O live …

Well… the “UI overhaul” we got to see so far (~45 minutes into the I/O keynote) is still kinda boring. “Material” looks like cheapo CSS3 effects I already saw on a lot of well coded websites, and the “Recents” overhaul reminds me of Vista’s task-switcher (a major improvement from the current state of “Recents”, but not really breathtaking). It contains a few “nice to look at” animations and the color matching of titles to images is also “good”. However, it fails to impress me (sorry, it’s just eye-candy not a real improvement – and while it has some “depth” instead of being just “flat” it somehow reminds me about Microsoft’s Metrocalypse overall).

As for “Hangouts is the only really bad GApp” – wrong. Google also successfully wrecked Maps on Android (the current Maps app is a lot more confusing to use than the old Maps UI), and Google Play Music is also just bad (before I unstalled that crap it was happily hogging up my data partition with over 800MB of pre-cached Music I even didn’t listen to). I could go on with other annoyances in other GApps, but I better spare myself the effort as most fanboys will try to flame any complaint away anyway.

  • TDioWS

Aw maaan, Lollipop isn’t even a proper dessert! :/

    • marco

      so as Jelly Bean?

      • TDioWS

        Yep, didn’t like that either!

  • Romeo

Android Lechon……look it up. Its the perfect name for android.5

  • Adithya Sairam

    Blueberry Pie

  • KillEmAllx

Why not just “Lemon Pie”? I hope for a ChromeOS/Android hybrid OS.

  • marcurmz

If not Lollipop, Lemon Bar perhaps?

  • http://amazing-youtube-video.blogspot.com/ Omran Terro
