image_33Google have proudly announced their mobile version of Google Book Search. For now, this software is only available on Android based handsets and the iPhone. If you live in the US, you can expose your mind to 1.5 million public domain books and for those in the rest of the world, a not-too-shabby half a million.

As we would expect from Google, the search features are straightforward. For example, you can view a list of featured books or just search for them by category. There is a ‘Recently viewed books’ section and also a ‘My Books’ section too. All of these books were already accessible via Google Book Search from a regular computer, but this new application is optimised for a smaller screen so reading won’t strain your eyes!

For more information about Google Book Search please pop over to the Book Search blog and find out more about Google’s pioneering optical character recognition technology! If you want to grab this application for yourself visit http:// books.google.com/m from your Android device or iPhone.
