Instant search from Google on Android

Instant search from Google on Android

It would appear as though certain Android phones will be treated to Google’s instant search. This technology has recently hit the full desktop variety of Google’s web-portal. We’re sure you are fully aware of Google instant search, but in case you are not, it is a new search enhancement that shows results as you type.

The general benefit afforded by this type of search process is that you can find what you want quicker by not having to type in the whole search phrase. On the Desktop, this is probably a little beneficial, but it goes without saying that on the mobile this could be really useful. After all, in general it takes a little bit longer to do anything on the mobile, especially typing.

The word on the street is that the instant search has become available on a small number of models, primarily the Motorola Droid, X and Incredible. If anyone else has the option showing “Instant (beta)” as turned off, try turning it on. Does anything happen?
