If you had plans for any kind of outdoors activity over the following weeks or so, you should either cancel them entirely or make sure you’re always near a power source to plug in your mobile device. You will certainly need more “juice” than usual, because Gameloft is preparing to hit us with three exciting new titles.
We have already talked extensively about N.O.V.A. 3 and how cool the first few trailers look, but the third iteration of the successful action game franchise will not come solo. Asphalt 7: Heat and Men in Black 3 will also be released by Gameloft very soon, and both games are already on my to-download list.
While I don’t think that the Asphalt game franchise needs any kind of introduction, let’s mention that the first title of the series dates from way back in 2004. Ever since, Gameloft has been spoiling us with a new edition every year, and, like a good wine, the franchise has become better and better in time. The first edition to have an Android version was Asphalt 5, while Asphalt 6: Adrenaline is the latest title to hit the market.
The seventh episode of the racing saga was revealed during the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S3 last week in London. Although we have pretty much no official information about the game, it’s safe to assume that we will see Asphalt 7: Heat released in a matter of weeks.
Most likely, Asphalt 7 will not be a free title, and it could cost as much as $5.99. It’s true, Asphalt 6: Adrenaline goes for just $0.99 in Google Play right now, but that's after several discounts. Also, given the fact that we saw the game at the S3 unveiling, we suspect it might be pre-installed on Sammy’s new flagship device or be available exclusively for the S3, for a while.
I don’t know about you, but I had so much fun watching the first MIB movies years ago that I am willing to give the series’ (hopefully) final episode a whirl. That's despite the fact that I’m not sold by the things I’ve heard about it – Tommy Lee Jones comes back in a smaller role and the movie’s trailer hasn’t been that funny, in all honesty.
We’re not here to talk about the movie, though, because a “Men in Black 3” video game will hit Android on May 25. Gameloft has already released a teaser trailer, which once again doesn’t look great. There are only a couple of seconds of in-game “action” shown in the clip, and it’s pretty obvious that MIB 3 will be a more basic game, lacking stunning visuals or action packed gameplay.
On the other hand, the game will be released for free, so I am willing to give it a chance after all. The black suits are coming (again) and, hopefully, the movie and the game won’t make us forget about all the fun we've had watching MIB and MIB 2.
Check out the MIB 3 for Android teaser trailer below and tell us if you think the game will be any good! Also, what are your thoughts on the upcoming release of Asphalt 7: Heat? How do you think it will measure up against its very popular predecessors?
