Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 16GB on sale for $280 at Best Buy

Samsung Galaxy TabPro 8.4 -13

Traditionally most of Samsung’s smaller-sized tablets have had less than impressive specs and displays, which is probably why the introduction of the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 was so refreshing.

The Tab Pro 8.4 was the first smaller-screened Samsung tablet to really emphasize quality specs, and while it has since been one-upped by the introduction of the Super AMOLED-packing Tab S 8.4, that doesn’t mean the Tab Pro 8.4 isn’t worth picking up. In fact, right now could be the perfect time to grab the Tab Pro 8.4, as Best Buy is currently selling the device brand-new for only $279.99 with free standard shipping — $50 less than even Amazon’s listing price.

For those that need a quick refresher, the Pro 8.4 is powered by a 1.9GHz Exynos 5 processor with 2GB of RAM. The tablet also offers up an impressive 8.4-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1600, and other specs include an 8MP rear cam, 16GB storage, microSD, a 4800 mAh battery and Android 4.4 with TouchWiz on top. For an even better look at what the tablet has to offer, be sure to check out our full review.

What do you think, anyone planning on picking this one up at it’s current sale price? For those that do, keep in mind that the actual sale price won’t show up until you begin the initial checkout process.

Hmm. I’m tempted to get this. The size is perfect to me. 7″ inches is a bit to small for my taste but 10″ is just a bit odd to hold. I’m still undecided on Touch Wiz on Tablets however, but I guess that’s why I have Nova Launcher!

I bought this one and this is the perfect size, Touch Wiz is nice also I love it !

Maybe there are custom ROMs. Haven’t checked yet.

There is some developement down on xda and there even is official cyanogenmod build. It has the most active community amongst all the the tab pro tablets, most likely due to the snapdragon 800.
It’s on my wishlist also, the screen is gorgeous.

Regarding TouchWiz… It has its quirks, but also advantages, especially on tablets. I’m talking about MultiWindow.

Youtube on top, Chrome on bottom – my favourite configuration.

I was a skeptical user (from a Nexus 7), but now I’m a happy camper for this feature.

(Otherwise you can just install a custom ROM: https://amigotips.wordpress.com/2014/07/23/cyanogenmod-for-the-average-amigo/ )

Yes like Romain Lapierre said, 8.4 is the perfect size (8.9 would have better) and the Tab Pro at $280US is a great deal. .I paid $340CAD for mine, 2-3 months ago, just before the Tab S came out. If I paid attention to tech I probably would have waited to get the S. I couldn’t wait any longer for the Nexus 8/9 but after finding out the Nexus specs and price, the Tab is way better considering the micro sd slot. The multi-window is very useful but would even be better on a 8.9 and bigger. Now I will be good for 2 years until they come out with 3gb RAM and a new Android OS.

My only con so far is when swyping in the address bar in Chrome, it does not auto space for you. Anyone know how to fix this?

I think having TouchWiz on tablets is an advantage, mainly due to MultiWindow.

Youtube on top, chrome on bottom.

    1.9GHz Exynos 5 processor?!? I thought it had the 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800.

    • khmerog

Yeah mine also had the 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800. Either he is thinking of the Pro 10.1 or the Tab S either way it is a typo. Unless the non-North American version uses the Exynos 5..
