Like the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle that fall into place, little by little we find more about the Samsung Galaxy S3, a week away from its official unveiling date on May 3, which, we…
Today we’re looking at some reportedly leaked AnTuTu Benchmark screenshots that seem to confirm some important features for Samsung’s fourth-generation smartphone, the processor and out-of-the-box Android build.
According to these images, the Galaxy S4 – or model number GT-I9500 for international markets and model number SHV-E300S for South Korea – will pack Samsung’s newly announced eight-core processor, the Exynos 5 Octa, running at 1.8GHz. The same images reveal that the Galaxy S4 will run Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.
In case you didn't know, the GT-I9500 has been almost confirmed to be the model number of the Galaxy S4, while the SHV-E300S product number is awfully close to the Galaxy S3′s model number for the same region (SHV-E300)
No matter how great it all sounds, we’ll remind you to take everything with a chunk of salt until we can get more details on the device. After all, some things can always be faked to generate buzz around a specific device.
That said, it would make plenty of sense to see the new Galaxy S model run Google’s latest version – at least assuming it hits stores before Google unveils Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie – but also Samsung’s latest processor.
On the other hand, we will remind you that we just heard a few days ago that a Samsung exec has apparently confirmed that the Exynos 5 Octa will be found on board of the Galaxy Note 3 later this year, but did not mention anything about the Galaxy S4.
We’ll be back with more news once we have it, meanwhile let us hear what you’d like to see inside the Galaxy S4.
