The Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 is apparently delayed according to a publication.

Sam Mobile posted on Twitter a short message to advise that the update has been delayed, with the “new TW [TouchWiz]” apparently being to blame:

The news isn’t confirmed at this time, but the publication has provided accurate information on Samsung products and related software updates so far.

We have no idea what issues may have delayed the Android 4.2.2 update, as the publication doesn’t mention them at this time. While the updates for the two 2012 flagship handsets have been delayed, it’s not like we had clear release dates for them before.

Many Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 versions are currently running Android 4.1.2, so at least most users are officially on a Jelly Bean version while the wait for the latest software version to be released.

They defiantly need to get rid of touchwiz

Why would they get rid of one of the biggest reasons they sell so many devices? Their features are what sell their phones. What they need to get rid of is all their apps that there is already an Android equivalent of, like their app store (never known anyone to use it), and many others m. They need to make their app store downloadable if you want it from the Playstore & then from their appstore you can download their apps. That way everyone gets only what they want and it saves on storage space issues.

Rogers note 2 has had 4.1.2 for a long time now!!

    • Let’s be real

If everyone on S3 and Note 2 can get the new features of the S4 through the new firmware now, who’s gonna get the new S4?

    • ripz

They will need to sell as many S4 units and its variants as they can to get more profit before releasing the 4.2.2 update for S3 and note2. That’s how Samsung do business. I hope the would release it before they announce the note3.

A phone like the Note 2 should be first in line for the 4.2 update!

Honestly updates have been delayed so many times. Only two anticipated updates but the first, 4.2.1 was delayed like 3 times until they canceled it completely and then now 4.2.2 is now canceled the second time.
