Even with the official Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) update rolling out for the Galaxy S2, it seems that the custom development department doesn’t want to stop releasing custom ROMs. An interesting ROM that stemmed from the official Ice Cream Sandwich update comes from XDA Developers member raffael88. Known as FoxHound PsychoMantis V2, the ROM is targeted for performance with features that boost the Galaxy S2’s shortcomings.

FoxHound PsychoMantis is based upon ICS software build XWLP7 from Samsung, with the developer repacking the ROM and adding some major enhancements. Tons of extra features were included such as a customization option for users to easily personalize their phone, a stock AOSP look and an inbuilt performance mod that lets users tweak the bare essentials of their phone’s internal configurations.

Check out the guide below for the full step-by-step instructions on flashing the FoxHound PsychoMantis ROM on your Galaxy S2.

Paul and I.T. are synonyms. If you need help with I.T.-related stuff, call on Paul. His experience with Android phones goes way back to the ancient single-core-phone days. But, he keeps himself up to date, so now he has a dual-core beast in his pocket, and is looking forward to getting his first quad-core monster, and when it comes, his first eight-core phone. Perhaps he should be called Mr. X-Core, where "X" equals the number of CPU cores.

Do I need to install an external SD card and put the ROM there? Or do I just copy it to the root directory (under /sdcard) when I look at “My Files” on the phone?
