T-Mobile released the multi-window update for the Galaxy Note 2 middle of December last year. XDA Developers member teshxx customized the stock Android 4.1.2 ROM build XXDLL4 factory image released recently for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 LTE GT-N7105. teshxx modified it to work for the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 SGH-T889. T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 users can enjoy either the deodexed or odexed version of this ROM. Both versions are rooted with unsecured boot and they come with init.d support and Busybox. This stock ROM is stable and can be easily customized by flashing kernels. Go ahead and flash this ROM to get your unofficial Android 4.1.2 update.
This guide shows you how to update the Galaxy Note 2 T889 to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean via teshxx's ported stock ROM.

Requirements
- A T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 2 SGH-T889 with an unlocked bootloader and with custom recovery installed. For help, check out these guides:
- Download teshxx's ported stock ROM version of your choice:

- Make sure your device's battery still has at least 70% power. You don't want the device to shut down in the middle of the procedure.
- Backup all personal data on your phone to make sure you have a copy of your personal data (e.g., contacts, SMS, MMS, Internet settings, Wi-Fi passwords, and the like) in case the procedure in this guide erases such data.
Instructions
Flashing through ClockworkMod Recovery
- Copy the stock ROM ZIP file of your choice to your phone's SD card.
- Turn your Galaxy Note 2 off.
- Boot the phone to custom recovery. You can do this by pressing and holding down the Volume Up, Home, and Power buttons until recovery boots. Use the Volume keys to navigate through the options and the Power button to select an option.
- Create a NANDroid backup. Select Backup and Restore > Backup.
- Select Wipe Cache Partition > Yes.
- Select Advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache > Yes.
- Select Install ZIP from SD Card > Choose ZIP from SD Card > Locate and select the stock ROM ZIP file of your choice > Yes.
- Select Go Back > Reboot System Now.
Flashing through TWRP Recovery
- Copy the stock ROM ZIP file of your choice to your phone's SD card.
- Turn your Galaxy Note 2 off.
- Boot the phablet to TWRP Recovery. You can do this by pressing and holding down the Volume Up, Home, and Power buttons until recovery boots.
- Create a NANDroid Backup. Select Backup and swipe to initiate the backup process.
- Select Wipe > Cache and swipe to wipe.
- Select Back > Dalvik Cache and swipe to wipe.
- Go back to the main menu.
- Select Install.
- Locate and select the stock ROM ZIP file and swipe to flash.
- Select Reboot System once you're done.
