Samsung Galaxy Note Pro heading to the U.S. on February 13th, priced at $850

Galaxy NotePRO 12.2

A little over a week ago a leaked Samsung memo indicated that a major product would be launching around Valentine’s Day. At the time it seemed likely that the memo was talking about the Galaxy TabPro and NotePro series.

Although we still can’t say for sure when the TabPro is coming, a new listing from Office Depot indicates that the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 is now up for pre-order and will arrive just a day before Valentine’s Day, on February 13th. Now for the bad news: don’t expect the Note Pro to come cheap. According to the retail listing, the 64GB model is priced at $849.99.

For those that need the refresher, the Note Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 800 CPU with 3GB of RAM. Other specs include 64GB storage, microSD, an 8MP rear cam, 2MP front cam, a 9500 mAh battery, S-pen support, and Android 4.4 KitKat with the new Magazine UI.

So is the NotePro worth the steep asking price? Really it depends on what you’re looking for. If you absolutely want the new Magazine UI, included free premium apps and the largest display possible — perhaps. For that are simply looking for a larger tablet with S-Pen support, you’re probably better off considering the Note 10.1 2014 edition.

What do you think, planning on picking up the Note Pro in time for Valentine’s Day or is the asking price just too much? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Why would anyone pay 850 for this thing? I’d rather get a convertible ultrabook like the Yoga, or a Surface Pro with FULL WINDOWS.

      Windows sucks though. LINUX FTW!

      • Mozaik

you can install linux on surface pro too .

  • Tanner Hoyt

Part of me says “You know you want it”, and the other part says “That too much freakin’ money.”

    • AndroidBoss

Well, for sure I’m not buying it. Nexus 10 is the answer (hopefully it will have a 64 GB version).

      • MadCowOnAStick

        No S-Pen though…

Im with ya on that thought but…..lol

Wait six or so months and it will be outdated and the price will begin or already have fallen.

The Note 10.1 2014 was already pushing it (50$ more than the already overpriced iPad), but this is ridiculous.

It’s nice, but at that price it better come diamonds encrusted on the back.

That’s just to much money you can get a decent lab top for that price.

Some of us hate the bulk of laptops though

I love my 10″ tab 2. Anything any larger than 10″ is just too big to be real handy and convenient. I cant imagine following a recipe on a 12″ which would require much more counter room. Im not impressed for practical purposes. The price is a bit high but so was my tab 2 when i first bought it. You gotta pay for the newest cool electronics. They never come cheap when they 1st come out. But hey..they do say bigger is better!! LoL

      well Stated, I agree Stepahnie!

      • Stephanie O’Connor

        Right!!

There will be use cases (graphic designers, professionals) that justify this. But for lost, definitely not. :-) the cost to make it is around 275 so it’s Highway robbery anyway.

Nice! Just purchased the 23′ inch touch… I want that as well but to high! Wow

  • Jae Cho

I don’t see myself buying this in the near future unless if I won the lottery.

  • Jason

I sold a bunch of extra stuff I had lying around so I could buy a new toy. I love my Note 2 and I use the stylist quite a bit. I don’t usually get to have toys but this is one that I will enjoy immensely. Can’t wait!

I for one like Samsung products and I own several. But, I do feel that the products are very over priced. I would love to have the Note Pro 12.2 but not for that price!! The technology in them is top of the line. Would I use it that much to justify the outrageous price…..nope!! I think if Samsung offered the tablets at a reasonable price, they would make up their profit in high volume sales!

I watt the big screen, But This is to expensive.

  • Jayfeather787

I want the new Nexus 10.

Greedy Samsung, the price is just WAY WAY TOO HIGH. I would not buy it unless Samsung cut the price in half.
