Mock-up design of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2
The first Galaxy Note was unveiled back in September 2011 during the IFA trade show and it looks like its rumored successor, the Galaxy Note 2, will be announced at this year’s edition of the German electronics fair. Samsung is reportedly going to hold a special Unpacked mobile event on August 30, a day before IFA 2012 kicks off, and the star of the show is without a doubt the next-gen phablet.
The news trickled in right from Asia where DDaily reports that the South Korean Android device manufacturer has scheduled a special media event for August 30 and the event is already confirmed – it will take place in Berlin at 7:00 PM local time.
According to the same publication, the Galaxy Note 2 will feature a 5.5-inch touchscreen display, 0.2-inch bigger than its predecessor, but it will have a smaller bezel. The device will reportedly sport a quad-core processor made by Samsung, most likely the Exynos 4 Quad CPU that’s also used by the Galaxy S3, S Pen support and 3G and 4G LTE connectivity. We also expect the device to come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on board, although that’s also yet to be confirmed.
An earlier report claimed that Samsung is interested in launching the Galaxy Note 2 before Apple ships its sixth-generation iPhone – expected to launch in October – so we wouldn’t be surprised to see the Galaxy Note 2 hit certain markets as early as September. The Asian publication also seems to believe that the 3G model would be launched in Europe in September, while the 4G LTE version will hit stores later down the road, if the available translation is to be believed.

I hope they improve the the screen. Would it be too much to ask for a hd super amoled plus?
That is the worst mockup I’ve ever seen. Literally all that they did was stretch the GS3 to a 16:10 aspect ratio and call it the Note II
I would honestly just need 2 – 4 gb of ram and as a must, support for multiple memory cards. Either sd or cf with micro sd, or at least some kind of case which would give me this option. I have the i717m, the only thing i need now is high capacity memory. 64 gb san disk card works formated to fat32 but i need more. As for os paranoid android’s custom rom is pretty sweet as it allows toggling between a tablet and phone esque environment and considering the device this would only be fitting to see a variant of jelly bean doing the same thing.could care less about the screen getting better, thats why i own a tv. Like a high res screen thats mobile is nice but whats the real point if its that small.
