AT&T Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update rolls out

by: Andrew GrushDecember 17, 2013

If you’re the owner of the AT&T Galaxy Note 2, today is your lucky day: Android 4.3 and Samsung’s latest premium suite are on their way!

Like the Sprint and T-Mobile updates, the latest update not only brings all the 4.3 Jelly Bean features you’d expect, but it also includes a slew of new Samsung-specific features including a newly enhanced multi-window mode, camera improvements, updates to several Samsung apps, a new easy mode, Samsung Knox support and added support for the Samsung Galaxy Gear. There’s also some unspecified bug fixes and speed improvements thrown in as well.

The update is rolling out as we speak, though it may take a few days to reach everyone. As always, you can check manually for the update by heading for Settings> About Phone> Software Updates. Just don’t be too surprised if it’s not quite ready for download yet.

For those that have already upgraded, what do you think of the update? Did all go as planned?

Any idea when Verizon is going to update their Note II version?

No one (on here) knows and anything you hear is just a rumor.

It was thought to be November 29th due to the leaked chart but I think the issues some phones with other carriers were having delayed it.

I too have the Verizon Note 2 and am waiting. I’m hoping my BlueTooth issue will be fixed. If not, I guess I’ll have to make a dentist appointment….

Thanks, I use my Bluetooth headsets quite a bit and originally had some issues, but it seems to have cleared up. I use a Plantronics Voyager Legend and it seems to hold the pair.

Says not available for me. OH well I never had my panties in a bunch just because it was taking longer than other phones. My Note II works just fine so no biggie. I should probably wait and see if there are any major bugs anyway.

I downloaded the update earlier this week. Now my battery is draining within 3-4 hours because Carbonite Mobile and Google+ apps are constantly running. This didn’t happen prior to the update. Even if I stop them they come back on. I’ve double-checked all of the battery saving options. After unplugging my phone 20 minutes later I was down to 90% batter power with 68% of that attributed to google+. The phone is also now very slow to respond and a bit “twitchy”. The additional functions are there, but if my phone isn’t on doesn’t matter. I had to get rid of my last phone because the last update ruined it. I love this phone, please don’t have screwed it up.
