We have some good news for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 owners in Canada. About two weeks ago, we learned that Samsung has pushed back the Android 4.1.2 upgrade for the device. It looks like the wait is about to be over this week.

As posted on Samsung Canada’s Facebook page, those who own the Galaxy Note 2 on national carriers can expect to get upgraded to Android 4.1.2 on February 6. Yes, this very Wednesday. Alongside Jelly Bean, the Note 2 will be joining other select Galaxy devices that can make use of the Multi-window feature.

The new firmware also comes with simplified and traditional Chinese language support.

By “national carriers”, we’re assuming that the Jelly Bean update will be pushed out first to customers of Bell, Rogers, Telus, and WIND. So, don’t forget to mark down the special date on your calendar.

Finally, eh? If you feel like sharing your excitement with the world, drop a comment or two below.

this is basically why i have just purchased a Nexus 4; i have been planning to get a samSung Note II when my previous contract ended (Jan 13), but have been noticing that the users have basically being held hostage by the mfgr.(and carriers) as far as timely updates are concerned – the biggest problem with buying Android. Waiting 6 months for an update that contains advertized promotional aspects of the phone’s special features over other phones, is close to dishonesty. [hope i get to taste keyLimePie in a timely fashion (fingers/toes/knees (ouch) crossed].
