Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition)

While the Galaxy Note 3 and its gear companion hogged the spotlight at IFA 2013, Samsung also unveiled a device that many tablet users have anticipated for a while now – a new and improved Galaxy Note 10.1 edition.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition (yes, that’s the official name) is a big upgrade over the original Note 10.1 in almost every way. Starting with the display, the new Note 10.1’s panel is an impressive 2560 x 1600 pixels, which puts it at the front of its class. Powering all those pixels is a mighty Snapdragon 800 processor with an Adreno 330 GPU, along with 3GB of RAM.

The Note 10.1 comes with pretty much all the software features that you get on the Galaxy Note 3 and shares the same design esthetic. The textured back does wonders for usability and we were very impressed with it in our hands-on time.

But I’ll let my colleague Joshua Vergara walk you through the most interesting aspects of the new Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition in this first look video below.

What tablet are you buying this holiday season? Is the new Galaxy Note 10.1 on your shopping list?

    i want a note 8 2014 edition :(

    • LSL1337

G Pad 8.3 is the closest you gonna get.
great specs, i don’t know why the galaxy tab line can’t get these without the stylus. I think this is the nexus 10 2. without maybe the micro sd, and a 100 less, or something. snap 800, 2560x, micro sd, slim. you just can’t get better than that in the near future. maybe if it didn’t have front buttons, it’d look better, but anyway. better than expected.

yah me to the 8 is very “notebooky” as in paper notebooks and one can whip it out on the train or bus with no problem

  • Spruce Cycle

    Greatest device yet made.

I usually try to stick with nexus products. I’m definitely considering the Galaxy Tab 10.1 2014 Edition. Samsung has actually been doing a pretty good job of updating their product to the newest version of Android. I will wait and see is Google is going to have a new version of the Nexus 10. If not I will be getting this new tablet from Samsung.

I want it so baddd for university! thanks god/allah/buddha that xperia tablet Z was out of stock on handtec for the last few weeks.. phew.

  • Ben Edwards

Pretty gutted they’ve removed the front facing speakers :(

    • Wesley Haley

I didn’t eve notice that, but I agree, those sounded great!

    • Altechi

They placed the stereo speakers on the side now, but yeah I prefer it front wards

      • Ben Edwards

That’s at least better than on the back, but I’d still rather have them on the front. Depending on where they are on the side of the device they’ll probably end up being partially (or totally) covered while you’re holding it.

Got rid of my first gen Nexus 7 and ready for something more powerful. This will be a great option. Especially like that it will communicate with my galaxy phone.
