• Update to Sprint’s FD02 OTA firmware upgrade prior to unlocking your bootloader and replacing your firmware.
• Your phone’s bootloader must be unlocked. Learn how.
• Install ClockworkMod Recovery on your Sprint Galaxy Nexus SPH-L700 after unlocking its bootloader.
• Backup all personal data on your phone to make sure you have a copy of your personal data (e.g., contacts, SMS, MMS, Internet settings, Wi-Fi passwords, and the like) in case the procedure in this guide erases such data.

• Make sure that your battery has at least 50% charge to avoid interruption due to power loss.

Instructions

1. Copy the CyanogenMod 9 and Google Apps ZIP files to the root of your phone’s internal SD card.
2. Turn off your phone.
3. Boot your phone into ClockworkMod Recovery by pressing the Power, Volume Up, and Volume Down keys to enter Fastboot Mode then select the Recovery option.
4. Create a Nandroid backup of your current OS. Go to Back up and Restore > Backup.
5. Select Wipe Data/Factory Reset > Yes.
6. Select Wipe Cache > Yes.
7. Select Install ZIP from SD Card. Select the CyanogenMod 9 package in order to flash it.
8. Select Install ZIP from SD Card again, but this time choose the Google Apps package.
9. Once the installation is done, select Go Back and reboot your phone by choosing Reboot System Now.
