Samsung officially announces the Galaxy Music, the rumors were spot on

Samsung accidentally revealed that they were working on a device called the “Galaxy Music” several weeks ago when they published a list of devices that were going to get upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Barely 24 hours after the existence of the Galaxy Music was confirmed, images of the phone leaked out. But enough background information, let’s get to the news!

The Galaxy Music is a 3 inch smartphone with a display that pushes 320 x 240 pixels. Not really something for us hardcore geeks, but hey, the more people using Android, the better. It has quadband GSM/EDGE support and dualband (900/2100 MHz) 3G. There’s WiFi onboard, Bluetooth, and all the other things you’d expect a modern smartphone to have. There’s even a 3 megapixel camera and an integrated FM antenna. What makes this phone special though is that it has two front facing speakers that should pump out some ridiculously loud music. Samsung doesn’t say how many decibels this little puppy is capable of delivering, but our gut tells us the Galaxy Music is going to be a teenager’s preferred tool to annoy adults with songs by Justin Bieber and Rebecca Black.

Other things to note: Samsung failed to mention a price or release date, and there’s a hilarious typo in their press release that says the Galaxy Music features a WVGA projector. We assure you, there’s no projector in this device.

Also, now that the Galaxy Music is official, we suspect that the rumors about Samsung announcing the Galaxy S III Mini later this week are even more true. In case you’re not aware, Samsung will be hosting an event at their flagship store in Frankfurt, Germany on the 11th where they’re allegedly going to show off the the Galaxy S III Mini. It’s supposed to look exactly like the Galaxy S III, except have a 4 inch 800 x 480 screen, and a dual core instead of a quad core processor.
