Galaxy Mega 6.3

[Update: We've just confirmed that Telus will be carrying the Galaxy Mega 6.3, too!]

Calling all Canadian lumberjacks, basketball players, giants and others with massive hands! Samsung and Rogers will be launching the Galaxy Mega 6.3, a gargantuan and capable performer, ‘soon’. As the Moto X has taught us – specs aren’t on everyone’s mind.

Does size matter?

In a word, yes. It absolutely matters. Some like big, and some like it, well, a bit more compact.

While there’s no confirmed release date for this specific device, it’s likely to become available very soon.

If you’re a fan of huge devices, want a super fast connection, and have been on the prowl for a new device, then stay tuned for when it will become available.

The real question is – where’s Samsung’s answer to the Xperia Z Ultra? What’s a fair price for the Galaxy Mega 6.3? Any takers? How about the Galaxy Note 3?

Should I buy this over Note 3?

Unless you really want the larger 6.3 inch size, no.

Damn reading would be damn fine on it.

It will be quite a bit cheaper than the Note 3 so that’s something to factor into your decision as well.
If you want the best of everything packed into a large device + the awesome S-Pen than the Note 3 for sure if you have the extra cash though.

The increased productivity seems worth the compromise to me. Nothing to do with price point but yes I agree. I wanted z ultra its screwed up but this isnt.

Spec wise, the Note 3 will blow the Mega 6.3 out of the water. Snapdragon 800, 1080p, more RAM, and a larger battery. And the display will be an HD AMOLED display, unlike the Galaxy Mega’s inferior 720p LCD.

The highest end device with the largest screen is the Xperia Z Ultra, but it lacks quite a few things, but brings others to the table too. We’ll be seeing the Galaxy Note 3 very soon, and will compare it with the Xperia Z Ultra!

For me if it doesn’t have an IR blaster… then it’s not for me. No way i’m going to be locked in to a 2 year contract with a phone that doesn’t have one.

      It does

I bought one a few days ago and have no issues with the unit. Us old farts can really take advantage of the size because it is so easy to see and use. I downloaded the Google keypad and I haven’t missed a password or botched a phone number yet. Finally a good unit for seniors.
